The Greater Sydney Orchestra (GSO) is a new co-operative founded by Australia’s top musicians to create and perform music by, and for, Greater Sydney. It’s a world class orchestra defining the cultural identity of a city undergoing incredible growth.

Every member gets a vote on what repertoire we do, which conductors we want to work with and what venues we want to perform in. We work together for the benefit of every single member in the organisation.

Education and Outreach + -

We pride ourselves on education and outreach and take great interest in introducing classical music to young children. Music has the power to transform peoples lives and when a child gets exposed to great music from a young age that will create a sense of wonder and curiosity.

Western Sydney Based + -

As an arts organisation based in western Sydney we are passionate about bringing music to people who don’t usually get the chance to access it. Music by the people for the people, bringing people together and creating community harmony.

Networking + -

By joining us you get to meet musicians from all walks of life, get to expand your repertoire and social networks and have fun in the process.
